From National Plans for News Release of Consensus on Arms Control With the national security consensus forms in the process of being tabulated, the national Public Affairs staff has begun to plan for the release of any new consensus that may result from our responses, according to a memorandum. from President Dorothy Ridings, and Communications Chair, Rosalind McGee. On Friday, December 9, immediately following national board action, the national office will call each state office and read a brief statement of our new position over the telephone. The state Leagues will then immediately contact the local Leagues. Three hours after notifying the state Leagues, at approximately 3:00 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 9, National anticipates making a statement available to the media. A considerable amount of media interest in LWV's newly-formed position on arms control is anticipated.
