Annual MeetingThe proposed budget for 1983-84 was passed with little discussion at Honolulu League's Annual Meeting at the Hale Koa Hotel on April 23. The adopted budget provides for a raise of dues to $25 for single memberships and $37.50 for household memberships. A new study item on the proposed Honolulu Program, "Techniques and Effectiveness of Neighborhood Boards," was adopted, while the proposal to assign a task force to explore the feasibility of a voter education project on the operations of our city government was rejected. Among the arguments raised against the latter proposal was the existence of sufficient written information and programs prepared by the city and other groups which are readily accessible to schools and individuals, and the anticipated difficulty of recruiting enough members willing to do the study. Marilyn Bowman was elected to a two-year term as Treasurer to succeed Marian Heidel, and Nan Luter will serve another two-year term as Program Chair.
