ACTION PACKED POLITICS has been our focus this month. Honolulu will kick off the national membership campaign with a "Candidate Fair" on September 10. During the month, we will be at shopping centers with posters, balloons and flyers. We will attend meetings of the Newcomers Club and Awa Lau Wahine Club with our brochures and applications. In addition, we will have radio spots and newspaper coverage. Throughout this campaign, we will portray the League as an organization that takes action and an organization that gets action. An organization that they will want to join. Our goal is small---a 10% increase by the end of the year. Surely, we can find 24 new Leaguers: The membership committee feels that a personal invitation is most effective. We encourage you to invite your friends to attend a League event and to take action and join the League. Mary Ellen Reed |
