League to Produce Publication on Hazardous Waste in Hawaii The League has received, through our Education Fund, grants from the Hawaiian Foundation and LWVEF to produce a publication on hazardous waste in Hawaii. Hazardous waste includes pesticides, chemicals and other substances which can cause damage to environment and health. If you would like to help with this publication, here are the tasks and the timetable: now through August: reading and researching early September: interviewing late Sept. thru Nov.: writing (and researching as necessary) Publication date is December 1st. If you are interested in environmental issues, this is a great opportunity to learn a lot while helping with a specific project. Hopefully, those who work on this would become the nucleus of a hazardous waste committee later on. Please call Barbara Farwell at 423-1681 if you are interested.
