Transportation UpdateMonitoring continues to be the main task of the Transportation Ctte. Leaguers are members of, or observers at, Oahu Development Conference (ODC), Transit Coalition, Citizen's Advisory Ctte for OMPO, and appropriate City Council meetings. Support of an adequate public transportation system is the framework for ctte activity. Current strategy planning aims us toward gaining a better understanding of transportation planning. We'll be trying to assess the problems, including those that might stem from the structure of DTS and its interface with other departments in the city as well as the state. (See article on page 4.) National and local positions on urban policy and transportation provide focus points for League action. New members are welcome. Do contact ctte members if you want to join, or observe!
