Hawaii has joined national in a fundraising drive to generate more than $1.5 million to finance a campaign to have 3 more states ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. LWV Hawaii is committed to raise $2000 by January. Tell your friends! Send all contributions to the league office. Money may not make the difference but "we'd be able to mount a hell of a last ditch attempt" (Joan Hayes LWVUS) if we reach our goal. Below is the text of the ERA which if ratified would be the 27th Amendment to the Constitution: "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
