Unicameralism and other Legislative Reforms From the President (Carol Whitesell) Earning Money for the League December Calendar League Finance Drive 1977 LWV Calendars Aloha to these New Members Open House |
Earning Money for the LeagueOn November 2 and 3, thirteen hardworking members earned $700 for the League. Easy money? Hardly! They were supervising and tallying Neighborhood Board elections in Kaneohe, Kailua, Waimanalo, and Mililani-Waipio, It was a long, hard two days for chief monitoring officers (SMO'S) Jane Ball, Barbara Farwell, Helen Griffin, and Carol Zachary. They were responsible for supervising all phases of the election, from opening the polls at 7 AM on Election Day to certifying the final results late tic next afternoon. Poll workers were from the communities, except for Myrne Blomquist, Alice Dahlgren, and Mabel Keesling,, who also worked on the vote count, which was done by League members and Neighborhood Commission staff. Many thanks to all of you who participated in this operation. We have earned over $2800 from vote count since April 1. For those of you who didn't have a chance to work this time, don't despair. Neighborhood Board Election Day in May will require at least 8 CMO's and lots of tallyers.
