Hawaii Coastal Zone Management Plan General Meeting October 26,1976 10a.m. Kaimuki Library Program Chairman: Aaron Levine-Oahu Development Conference Panel: Donna Duran-Council Of Presidents Douglas Meller-Shoreline Protection Alliance William Van Allen-Bishop Estate Hawaii's Coastal Zone Management Plan is nearing completion. Drafting of necessary legislation should be completed by November 1 and final recommendations for management policies ready for review. Pressing policy questions are: Where should the boundary of the Coastal Zone be located? that body should be the lead administrative agency? How should the CZM relate to other state and county planning programs? How can CZM improve existing land and water use management? How should Areas of Particular Concern be designated and managed? What role should the citizen have in the process? The October 26th General Meeting will give League members an opportunity to be brought up-to- date on the CZM Plan and to hear a variety of points of view on these issues.
