A Job Well Done!
Copy of a letter to Ruth Snyder from George Bensely, Area Administrator of the Department of Labor:
Dear Mrs. Snyder:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all of the other very hard working members of the League for the fine job that was done in counting the ballots in the recent supervised election of
officers for Teamsters Local 996. The exercise of a citizen's right of franchise is a meaningless right unless there are fair and honest safeguards throughout the entire voting process. This principle is equally valid in the election of officers in labor organizations. One critical point in the election process is the counting and tabulation of votes. The tabulation of voting in Local 996 was conducted in the most professional manner which insured that the right of franchise for the members and the candidates was protected. Again on behalf of myself and the staff, thank you for a job "Well Done."
George Bensely
