From the President
$$ MONEY is on my mind this month. Treasurer Betty Anderson's six-month report shows that 'we are financially sound at this time, due to our earnings from vote counting. However, income from member dues, member contributions, and nonmember contributions is low."
What are we doing, and what can members do?
Our joint State/Honolulu Finance Drive is under way, directed by Craig Whitesell with the help of Joy Curry and Bev Endrizal. Contributions are starting to come in,** but we have a long way to go to meet the adopted budgets of both State and Honolulu Leagues. Personal contact is important. If you know someone in the business community to whom you would be willing to speak or write on behalf of the League, call Craig (261-6114).

Windward Evening Unit's rummage booth at the Outdoor Circle's Country Fair on Nov. 8, netted the League $200. Many thanks to chairman Edna Shoup, to Marian Heidel, and to all those who donated items and worked at the booth. Unite are encouraged to have their own fund-raising projects to help the League.
-
League will count votes for the United Public Workers Union election, Friday, Dec. 5. Another opportunity to earn money for the League. Dorothy Bremner is our coordinator.

You can all help by PAYING DUES PROMPTLY. We hate to drop anyone, but we can't carry unpaid members indefinitely, because they cost us money. If you meant to pay your dues, but it slipped your mind, please write a check today. Don't be a League dropout: WE WANT YOU.
P.S.: If you can, send a contribution, too.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS:
To all Leaguers, friends and supporters of the League:
BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY AND REFRESHING HOLIDAY SEASON.
Aloha,
Carol Whitesell
