Membership Memo - Capitol Tour ReportCaptiol Tour Report Sixty people turned our Thursday, February 22nd for the Legislative Tour. An orientation by State Education Chairman, Fran McLeod introduced everyone to League lobbying activities during the bus ride to the Capitol. Upon arriving, small groups were escorted by Junior League guides who had been especially trained for the occasion. The emphasis was placed on making the citizen feel "at home" in his capitol building and more familiar with the procedures to follow when attending a hearing, a session or testifying in committee. The return trip featured Vangie Lamberts, State Housing Chairman, discussing the State's lobbying activities in this area. The tour attracted Leaguers, their guests, and interested citizens who had read the newspaper publicity. A variety of people cooperated to coordinate babysitting, tour guides, bus arrangement. and reservations.
