APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD - Arien Grabbe as liaison for the housing committee. Melvia Kawashima will carry the International Relations portfolio.

The resignation from Priscilla Mauerman as Membership Chairman due to a transfer to the mainland was accepted with regret.

Recommended the purchase of More, a LWVUS publication on population and economic policies in environment factors to be available at the fall units.

Reported that spot announcements urging people to vote will be aired on station KLEI.

Also that managers of various supermarkets are willing to cooperate with the distribution of voters guides in the fall, provided Leaguers are on hand to distribute them.

Charter-The Board gave approval to have Jane Hewitt, Alice Scott, and Diane Hastert speak for the Leap en in charter revision that are in agreement with our consensus. The Board felt that the LWV should be emphatic on the matter of mandatory hearings for zoning and general plan changes.

Housing-suggested we purchase copies of Current Focus-How Shell We Pay For our Land Use and make them available through the units.

Reported that the ACLU has agreed to finance one-half the cost of purchase and distribution of the Rights of Privacy publication to public and private high schools.

Nominating Committee - Mrs. Muench, Mrs. Wilkins and Mrs. Vernon will join Lila Grossman,

Bea Bennett, and Althea Marrack as members of this committee.
