LEAGUERS HAVE BEEN ACTIVE WITH-- [General Meeting]and... at our December 9 General Meeting. The meeting took the form of a panel discussion included State Senator Sahae Takahashi, State Representative Andrew Poepoe, Kr. Tom Coffman, political reporter for the Star Bulletin, and Mr. Byron Baker, political commentator of KHVH. Various provisions of the Omnibus Election Law Bill were discussed and evaluated. Since the League has reached consensus on four areas covered by the Bill it is very important to us that it be approved in the next session of the Legislature. Prospects for passage do not seem bright, however. All the League's efforts will be required to ensure this badly needed revision of our election laws. Nan Lowers |
