Did You Know?
We sometimes think of the International Co-operation Year as though it were a new phase of the United Nations activities. Many examples can be given of co-operation between various nations arranged by some United Nations agency in years past. For instance, an expert to fight livestock diseases was needed in Tunisia, and one was sent from Ceylon. The fishing industries of India, Ceylon, and Turkey needed help in modernizing their methods, and the help was given by fisheries in Iceland.
