Continuing Responsibilities - City & County Jail of Honolulu To familiarize new members with the working procedures of the League of Women Voters a review of the securing of a new jail from the early inspections of the old jail to the ultimate success would be helpful. With recent attempts to take away part of the present acreage (the Fire Department Facility proposed by Mayor Blaisdell) and the added burden of holding service connected offenders it would seem wise for us to keep informed on current developments and to keep the jail as a Continuing Responsibility. Proposed Local Continuing Responsibilities (to be voted on at the Annual Meeting) Support of measures for the improvement of waste disposal methods in the City and County of Honolulu. Securing a new City and County jail which meets the standards of a modern correctional institution, provides adequate security, segregation and rehabilitation. REMINDER!!!
