Calendar of Events If You Have to Lead a Discussion Priority for the Honolulu League Schedule for 1959-1960 From the President's Chair (Opal Sloane) And Now for the Big News Liberty House and LWV Collaborate |
Liberty House and LWV Collaborate"Vote Wisely, Hawaii The World is Watching You" The above red white and blue sign in a Liberty House window draws attention to an exhibit "Courtesy of the League of Women Voters of Honolulu A non-partisan organization interested in good government" A world globe wearing big black spectacles looks toward a Hawaiian poster and a cutout of a man with a ballot. At the side, posters list issues facing the next governor, U.S. senators and congressmen, and emphasizes that it is the duty of voters to elect men who can best meet these responsibilities. This very telling piece of citizen education was planned by League member Gracia Bell and executed by Liberty House in a highly professional manner. The League may well be proud of it.
