Colonel Sleeper to Be Featured SpeakerOn June 18th, at the YWCA, 1040 Richard Street, at 7;30 p.m., the League will begin its two-year study of Item I on the National Agenda (evaluation of U.S. foreign policy). The speaker will be Colonel Raymond S. Sleeper, USAF, Chief of the Plan and Policy Section of the Joint Plans Division, Commander-in-Chief, Pacific (Admiral Stump's staff). His topic will be The Strategic Importance of a Free Asia." Before coming to Hawaii, Colonel Sleeper was Commanding Officer of the Seventh Bomb Wing, Carswell Air Force Base in Texas. Prior to that, he was a member of the Staff of the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Colonel Sleeper is a graduate of West Point, with a. Master's degree from Harvard University. All members and friends are urged to attend this very special meeting. The League is indeed fortunate to have this very busy man give his time to speak on this subject.
