Calendar of Events Supervisor Chikasuye to Speak on Charter Alternatives On the Boardwalk in Atlantic City... Here's Your Chance to Do Something Welcome, New Members In Support of Foreign Economic Aid (Mrs. John F. Latimer) What Goes on in City Hall? |
"On the Boardwalk in Atlantic City..."When President Blanche Smith begins "conventioneering" at the LWV Convention, Aril 21 - 25, in Atlantic City, N.J. she will be fortunate if she can find time to get a look at the famed Boardwalk! Mrs. Smith leaves Honolulu on the 19th of April and will be staying at the Ambassador Hotel in Atlantic City. One of the most "unique" events scheduled for Convention is a "Hat Parade" when one delegate from each state and territory will model a hat decorated to emphasize imports or exports important to the economy of her particular area. The LWV is "using its head" to bring the trade issue to the forefront! Mrs. Smith will wear a coconut hat trimmed with sugar cubes, flowers, coffee beans, and topped with a small pineapple!
