Report of the Nominating Committee

Report of the Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is happy to present the following candidates for the offices to be filled at this time. Additional nominations may be made from the floor at the Annual Meeting, March 19, provided that previous consent of the nominee has been obtained.

PRESIDENT MRS. J.R. SMITH
1 year Blanche Smith has been our very able president for the past two years and has generously agreed to serve in this capacity for another year.

FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT - MRS. ELIZABETH WRAY
1 year Elizabeth Wray is assistant archivist, Territory of Hawaii. She has been a board member this year and was also active in League work in Illinois.

SECOND VICE-PRESIDENT - MRS. ARLEN M. SCOTT
2 years Alice Scott is Chief of the Bureau of Public Health Nursing for the Territorial Department of Health. She has been a unit hostess this year and acted as membership chairman during the absence of the latter.

RECORDING SECRETARY - MRS. PAUL VAN DER VEUR
2 years Carol Van der Veur is the wife of a University of Hawaii professor of Government. She was a League member in East Haven, Connecticut and served as a study chairman.

TREASURER - MISS MARGARET WRIGHT
2 years Margaret Wright has had board experience as a substitute for the recording secretary while the latter was away.

DIRECTOR - MISS LAURA DRAPER
2 years Laura Draper has been the very capable membership chairman this year and served the League in many capacities, including the Charter.

DIRECTOR - MISS HELEN FREDERICK
2 years Helen Frederick is a Public Health nurse with the Oahu Tuberculosis end Health Association. She is a former League Board member from Joliet, Illinois.

DIRECTOR - MRS. ROBERT P. MoCULLAGH
2 years Jeannine McCullagh is a new member with League board experience in Vermillion, South Dakota, where she served as action chairman end secretary, and secretary on the state board. Her husband is Director of the Wesley Foundation, education ministry for university Methodist students.

DIRECTOR - MISS MILDRED SAUNDERS
1 year Mildred Saunders has been a very active board member, including chairmanships of local and national agenda items and Vice-President. She is librarian, 14th Naval District Library.

NOMINATING COMAITTEE

MISS SAI YEW YOUNG: Teacher at Kuhio School, has been active in the League in many capacities, including the office of treasurer.

DR. TERU TOGASAKI: A faithful League member, especially for a busy doctor, and is a former board member.

MRS. MURRAY TURNBULL: Was a Leaguer on the mainland and has served as unit chairman.
