Citizens Charter Committee"Printed copies of the semi-final draft of the charter (90 pages) and the digest with summary (15 pages) are now available. Copies may be obtained at all branches of the Library of Hawaii, the Charter Commission office in City Hall, Citizens Charter Committee in Iolani Palace and at offices of Oahu schools. "The Commission has labored long and studiously to create a new form of local government for the City and County of Honolulu. But a home rule charter must reflect the thoughtful reactions of individuals and community groups, and the Commission will seriously consider your statement before submitting the final draft to the Board of Supervisors." League members are urged to attend public hearings in their areas. Here is the revised schedule of public hearings on the charter:
The League's proposals regarding the charter will be officially presented by
our representatives at the City Hall hearing. League members may speak as individual citizens at the hearings. When we speak as individual citizens, we do not represent the League.
