Charter Commission Mr. Charlton F. Chute will arrive 6:30, September 11. He will be here 3 weeks to assist the Commission in reaching decisions on areas not yet decided. The Commission hopes to hold public hearings the first part of October. Proposals so far: Form of government - Strong Mayor with Administrative Assistant A Department of Finance A Department of Law under Corporation Counsel, who will not be removable by Attorney General A Short Ballot A Short Simple Charter An Independent Post Audit An Internal Auditor The Council (Supervisors) will have Policy and Legislative powers only
