Voter Service - Rent ControlOn June 29th, the Supervisors passed and the Mayor signed a new rent control ordinance for Honolulu which extends control for one year beyond the expiration date of June 30, 1956. At a spirited public hearing held on the same day eight persons spoke against and five persons for continuing control. The new ordinance provides for rental hikes of about five percent over the 1953 levels.
