Annual Meeting Aloha at Year's End (Marion Saunders) Jail Action Charter Action Voters Service Views (Blanche Smith) Discussion on Proposed By-Law Changes

Voters Service Views House Bill 47 deleting the Steiner property from the Master Plan came up for a hearing on March 23rd before the House County Committee, It was opposed by Supervisor Takabuki, spokesman for the Board of Supervisors. The fate of the bill has not yet been decided. Members of the Voters Service Committee attended the hearing. Resolution 634 amending portions of the Master Plan that would realign Kalakaua Ave. and establish an open beach area was passed by the Board of Supervisors March 15th with a 5 to 2 vote. Supervisors Kageyama and Apoliona voted no. From March 1954 to the present time, members of the Voters Service Committee have attended 114 meetings of the Board of Supervisors, 18 women participated. As the League year ends, I wish to express my deep appreciation to the members of the Voters Service Committee for their most loyal support in all the activities undertaken during the year.
