Observers at the Finance and Public Works Committees of the Board of Supervisors report those committees carrying on as usual. The Finance Committee has been busy with the problems of schools and school sites. Palolo Valley is to have a new Intermediate School with a park adjacent. The Public Works Committee has had under consideration a 14-page report on storm damage from the November storms. It is interesting to note that in some cases where damage was extensive, improvement districts had been initiated by the old Board of Supervisors (in the past two years) to remedy some bad situations. Such improvement had been voted down by the property owners.

Mr. Vannatta, the City Engineer, made four recommendations. An important one was that something be done about a reasonable basis for the design of storm sewers for all areas. Another was the need for a comprehensive Master Plan to be prepared showing necessary extensions and special work to be done. He also recommended that the Mayor and Board set up a policy as to the extent of City participation in drainage and flood control.

Reports on What Goes on at City Hall are given by the Voters Service observed the fourth Friday of each month at a luncheon meeting at the YWCA. If you would like to attend our meeting please call Mrs. J.R. Smith (97193). February 25 will be the date to remember this month.
