No Rest for the...THE VOTERS SERVICE COMMITTEE will begin regular observation of Board of Supervisors meetings when the new Board convenes in January. During the next two years they will keep track of the Board's action on issues of general interest to the community, and will have information on the voting records of the Supervisors ready to distribute before the next election. Here is a chance to get acquainted with your Board of supervisors and their handling of the affairs of your City. Call Mrs, J. R. Smith, 97193, and tell her you are anxious to learn more about City government and will be glad to join this group. The committee will welcome suggestions from members as to local issues which they would particularly like to have followed. Please let Mrs. Smith know by telephone, or send your suggestions to her at 2971 Oahu Avenue. VOTERS SERVICE AND LOCAL RESOURCE COMMITTEES together are planning for January a discussion series to help acquaint Leaguers with legislative organization and procedure as well as lobbying techniques. Plans are not completed in detail but the aim of the discussions will be to increase our practical knowledge of the operation of the legislature with the emphasis on informal, rather than formal aspects of procedure. Members of the legislature, representatives of the press and lobbyists will be invited to speak. ';latch for notice of time and place for this program and plan to attend. The purpose of this series is to prepare members for observing action in the legislature and for lobbying for the establishment of a charter commission to write a new charter for the City and County of Honolulu.
