From the Editor of the Honolulu Star-BulletinDear Mrs. Myers: We are hearing quite a lot of favorable comments on the booklet "In Honolulu Hale...They Appoint," which you have just issued and about which we have carried several news items and comments. I find this the most informative booklet on the city government since, a good many years ago, a then University of Hawaii student, Robert Littler, made a study of both territorial and municipal government. The Star-Bulletin published the series of articles he wrote on territorial government and it was so well received that we followed it up with a similar series on city government. The two series were put into booklet form, and I recall we sold the booklet--it was less elaborate than the one your League has gotten out--for ten cents a copy. Anyway, I remember the supply was soon exhausted. The League of Women Voters of Honolulu has done a very fine piece of public services in preparing and issuing this booklet and I hope its sale, especially during this campaign period, will be prompt and very large. Cordially yours, (signed) Riley H. Allen (To date, some 2500 copies have been sold.)
