Did You Know?The League of Women Voters of U.S.A. grew out of the National Women's Suffrage Association. Many of the leaders were women of considerable social prestige and great personal charm. Ability of a high order was required to organize, direct, and carry through to victory the 70 long years of effort in that campaign. When the hour of their triumph approached some of the leaders wanted to disband; the wiser ones realized that winning the vote was only the first step in the political education of women. The League was organized in February, 1920.
