Volunteer and Get PaidThe Senior Companion Program makes it possible for low-income seniors to be paid for acting as companions to people who need a little help and some company. Volunteers may read to their companion, take them for walks, or remind them to take their pills, among other things. The program is open to those over 55 years of age and earning less than $24,920 a year, who can devote 20 hours per week. Call 832-0340 for details and next training class.
