Annual Meeting Report (Piilani Kaopuiki) Initiative Tries to Stop Rail (Charles Carole) No Consensus Pro or Con for LWV Honolulu (Jean Aoki) Welcome New Members Voter Service (Arlene Ellis) Vote Count (Arlene Ellis) Guest Speaker Saved Kawainui Marsh (Elizabeth Reilly) Calendar of Events |
Vote CountHELP! The time has come for all members to come to the aid of the League.
We have contracted with IBEW (the electricians' union) to conduct their election of officers for their union. The stipend we will be paid for this service will allow us to advance the policies of the League of Women Voters of Honolulu and help to offset the expenses of maintaining our offices. This service which we provide to the unions not only gives them an impartial third party, it is also imperative for our well-being. So, get out your calendars, mark the dates and times you will be available, and call the office to volunteer as soon as possible so that we can coordinate the work.
Volunteers are needed for the following dates to do the following jobs:
It is important for the coordinator to have the name of each volunteer with the job or jobs they can sign up for and the times they can commit to. If you are unable to help the full time, indicate the appropriate times you can give us, so that we can fill the vacancy. Other information we need is if you can drive to the work site; whether you can provide transportation for others; whether public transportation is convenient or if you will need transportation. We encourage you to sign up for the mail-out and/or the vote count as soon as possible. Each volunteer will be mailed a job description and a map of the worksite. It is not too soon to call today!
