December General Meeting Mark December 1st on your calendars for the Honolulu Chapter’s General Planning Meeting to be held at the Hale Koa Hotel. Traditionally, this meeting is reserved to plan the Chapter’s activities for next year and to listen to a dynamic speaker on specific issues that are relevant to the League…..and we will still continue this tradition. However, along with these activities, this year, the Chapter is also tasked to provide feedback on the immigration policy positions that have been proposed by the National organization (see page 2) by January 2008. As a result, the first two hours of the meeting will be dedicated to the review, discussion, and voting on this important issue. Your viewpoints and insights on immigration are important and your attendance and participation at the general meeting will allow us to give National quality feedback. The remaining time will be dedicated to reporting on the Chapter’s accomplishments since we last met and laying the foundation for the Chapter’s 2008 activities. As always, your input is welcome and encouraged. Attending the meeting to share your thoughts on the direction that the Chapter should take is the most efficient and effective way to communicate with the Chapter’s officers and the other members. We are honored to have Jeff Mikulina, Director of the Sierra Club, Hawaii Chapter, as our guest speaker. As a mechanical engineer who has recently completed his Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mr. Mikulina will be speaking on global warming. He recently completed his presentation training with Al Gore and has already given over two dozen shows to various Hawaii audiences. The lunch menu is: Classic Caesar Salad with Chicken Breast, Cream of Watercress soup, and Lime Mousse Tart with Glazed Strawberries.
