Rail Transit Meeting On August 28Want the latest information on rail transit? The city will hold a meeting to update the public on the latest cost, ridership and other information on the Alternatives Analysis Study for the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor project on Monday, August 28, at 6 pm at Farrington High School Cafeteria in Kalihi Mayor Mufi Hannemann, city personnel and project consultants will be on hand to answer questions and provide details on the alternatives analysis. The four alternatives are: 1. no build, 2. Transportation System Management (TSM), 3. Managed Lane and high-tech High Occupancy Toll lanes (HOT lanes), and 4. fixed guideway (rail). A possible topic that might be discussed at the meeting is the transit-oriented development (TOD) which is a compact, walkable community centered around a transit stop. Charles Carole
