President's MessageCommittees, committees, committees! What would League do without them? Pretty much everything we do starts with or is referred to one committee or another. Right now we have nine standing committees. Our ambition is to have at least three members on every committee (that way, it is safe to volunteer and not worry about being made Chair). The first item in this month's sermon is the adjacent article, Transportation Planning Survey. Please read it and then read the enclosed brochure and questionnaire. We know it is hard for lots of you to get to public meetings to make your opinions known. This week the meeting is coming to you. You can help shape the new Regional Transportation Plan. Membership
Annual Program Planning Meeting

It is also the time, in odd-numbered years, that we gear up for the next year's election. People will need to be registered. Should we plan on doing voters' guides? If so, for what issues/offices? Surely for Charter amendments, if any come out of the Charter Commission. But are we up to doing City Council races? Time to start making a wish list so we can talk about it in December. Aloha,
