Honolulu League's Annual Meeting Report (Robin Loomis) Vote Count (Arlene Ellis) New Discussion Group Begins Welcome New and Reinstated Members Call to Council, 2004

VOTE COUNT The League will be coordinating and counting the ballots for Olelo's election of a director for their Board. The schedule is as follows: Preparation for the mailout to 3-4000 eligible voters (labeling, stuffing envelopes, etc) will be held at the League office at 49 S. Hotel St., room 314, from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, May 29. We will need from 20 to 25 persons. At least 2 persons per week day will be needed at the office from 10 am to 4 pm to sort incoming election mail and respond to eligible voters who will claim not to have received ballots and to mail 2"d ballots to them. This effort will begin on Friday, June 4 through Wednesday, June 16. Preparation for counting votes will be at the office on Wednesday, June 23 from 9 am to 4 pm. We will need 15 to 20 persons. The final tally will be at the office on Thursday, June 24, beginning at 9 am until completed. 12 to 16 persons should be able to complete this by noon. The estimated closing times for items 1,3 and 4 above will be shortened depending on the number of volunteers we have and the speed at which they work. Lunch will be provided by the League on those days that the work extends beyond noon. Vote counts are the major source of income for the League where we earn needed funds to continue our work while performing a public service. This is your opportunity to lend a helping hand, whether for an hour or more. Mark your calendar, then call the League (531-7448) and leave your name and phone number, and the days and hours you can volunteer.
