LWV BOARD MEMBER JACKIE PARNELL RECOGNIZED AS TOP IN FIELDWashington, D.C. - The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is pleased to announce the induction of Jacqueline Parnell, FAICP of Honolulu, Hawaii into the elite membership of AICP's College of Fellows. On March 29th, Parnell was welcomed as a Fellow of AICP on the basis of individual achievement in the field of urban and rural planning at a ceremony held in conjunction with the American Planning Association's (APA) National Planning Conference in Denver, CO. "The members of the AICP College of Fellows represent the most outstanding contributors to the planning profession," said Sergio Rodriguez, FAICP, who served as Chair of the Fellows of AICP Selection Committee. "The Fellows have devoted their careers to excellence in planning and they set the highest standards for professional planners today," he said. "Jacqueline Parnell is a pioneer in environmental planning. Since she arrived in Hawaii in 1973, she has had a major role in establishing environmental policy for her adopted state. She has also found the time to serve her profession and her community as a tireless volunteer, role model and mentor," said Daniel Lauber, AICP, President of AICP. AICP is the professional institute of the American Planning Association (APA). For more than 80 years, AICP has promoted professional excellence in the field of planning by setting high standards for competence, education, experience and ethical conduct, and by articulating the future of the planning profession. |
