In Memoriam
Longtime League member Adeline Schutz died on October 24, 2000. Adeline joined the Honolulu LWV in 1970 upon her retirement from Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.. She was very active in the 1970's and '80s, serving on committees and attending meetings. She was particularly interested in City government, planning and zoning, and anything that affected the Kahala area. Her questions and comments to government officials (and sometimes on LWV policies and actions), were frequently in the form of single-spaced typewritten letters, liberally sprinkled with handwritten marginal additions. She described herself as "a gadfly", a role which she relished. We honor Adeline's unwavering support and are very grateful to her for remembering the League with a generous contribution through her trust.
