Call for Vote Count Volunteers

Calling all Leaguers. We are in the midst of a Teamsters election for Local 996. Monday through Friday the League office should buzz with members processing the mailed-in ballots from Local 996 members. League tasks include counting incoming envelopes, alphabetizing, and verifying eligibility of Local 996 members. This is all in preparation for the October 22 vote count at the Teamster's office at 1817 Hart Street from 8 am until completion - approximately 4 p.m. Please be there.

And, not to be confused with the Local 996 election, League is about to undertake a similar process for Teamster Local 681. A ballot mailout of 2000 pieces takes place on October 31 in the League office. Volunteers are also needed in the office midday Monday through Friday November 6 through 30 to prepare the returned ballots for Local 681's election tally on December 1 when counters are needed.

This is the time for all League members and friends to contribute time to support the League's ongoing efforts of advocacy and voter education because the League is paid by the hour to conduct these elections. Help out. Spend a few hours or many hours. Every minute is money for the League
